4-Bolt

Measure centre to centre across two opposite bolts.

Measure across
Measurement = PCD

5-Bolt

×1.051

Measure to the next bolt (not across). Multiply result by 1.051.

Measure to 2nd bolt
Multiply by 1.051

6-Bolt

Measure centre to centre across two opposite bolts.

Using the wrong seat type can cause wheels to loosen, vibrate, or even detach while driving. The "seat" is the part of the bolt or nut that contacts your wheel. Each wheel is designed for a specific seat shape. Mixing seat types won't properly centre or secure your wheel.
60°

Tapered (Conical)

60° angled seat. Common on BMW and most aftermarket wheels.

BMW / Aftermarket
R14

Radius (Ball)

Rounded seat, R12–R14 radius. VW, Audi, Mercedes, Skoda, VAG group.

VW / VAG / Mercedes
FLAT

Flat (Mag / Washer)

Flat contact with washer. Toyota, Lexus, Land Rover, mag wheels.

Toyota / Land Rover
KEY

Tuner (Spline)

Narrow body, tapered seat. Fits small holes, needs special key.

Aftermarket
FLOATING

Wobbly Bolt

Floating sleeve for PCD adaptation. ±1-2mm PCD change.

Not sure? Check your wheel documentation or measure the existing bolt hole. Using the wrong seat type is dangerous.

What Are Wobbly Bolts?

Wobbly bolts (also called floating bolts or PCD variation bolts) have a movable sleeve that allows minor PCD adjustment — typically 1–2mm. They're used to fit wheels from a slightly different PCD onto your vehicle. For example, fitting 5×112 wheels onto a 5×114.3 car, or 4×98 wheels onto a 4×100.

⚠️ Limitations: Wobbly bolts introduce a small amount of play which can cause vibration at speed. Only use for small PCD differences (max 2mm). Must be torqued correctly and re-checked after 50 miles. Not recommended for track use, high-speed driving, or heavy vehicles. Always use hub-centric rings alongside wobbly bolts.

Always verify your thread size before ordering bolts or nuts. Using the wrong thread will strip the hub or stud. If in doubt, take an existing bolt to a wheel specialist for measurement.
