Check if your tyre width works safely on your wheel. Uses real overall wheel width (bead seat + flanges) for accurate stretch assessment.
The J measurement is the bead seat width โ where the tyre seats inside the rim. The actual wheel is wider lip-to-lip by approximately 0.75" (19mm) due to the flanges on each side (~9.5mm per side). Stretch is measured against the overall wheel width, not just the J measurement.
No stretch: Tyre wider than overall wheel โ standard fitment. Mild: Tyre narrower than wheel but sidewall still covers lip โ common stance setup, legal. Moderate: Tyre visibly pulled โ show car territory, check legality. Heavy: Extreme stretch โ bead unseating risk, not road safe.
