Overview
The Audi A7 is an executive luxury five-door liftback coupé produced by Audi since 2018. It is based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform and features a sloping roofline with a steeply raked rear window, forming the Sportback body style. The second generation (Type 4K8) was revealed in October 2017 and went on sale in Europe late 2017, making its North American debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2018. Production began in February 2018 at Audi's Neckarsulm plant.

History & notable variants
The A7 Sportback was unveiled as a concept vehicle in 2009 and entered production in 2010, with its second generation starting in 2018. Notable for being the first fastback to appear within the Audi C-platform series since the Avant version of the C2 Audi 100, it has received a facelift in 2015 and an extended-wheelbase three-box sedan variant called A7L was introduced in China in April 2021. The RS 7 high-performance model debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
