Overview
The Audi Q5 first generation (Typ 8R) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Audi from July 2008 to 2017. It was the third member of the B8 family, following the A5 and fourth-generation A4, all based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform. The model features front-engine, front-wheel drive or quattro four-wheel-drive layouts. Body styles include a 5-door SUV variant with an optional Sportback (coupé SUV) introduced in 2020 for subsequent generations.

The Q5 was unveiled at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and later at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
