Overview
The Audi Q5 first generation (Typ 8R) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Audi from July 2008 to 2017. It was the third member of the B8 family, following the A5 and fourth-generation A4, all based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform. The model features front-engine, front-wheel drive or quattro four-wheel-drive layouts. Initially available in a 5-door SUV body style, it later introduced a Sportback variant (2020–present).

The Q5 was unveiled at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show that year.
