Overview

The Audi A5 is a series of compact executive and grand touring coupé cars produced by Audi since June 2007, derived from the Audi A4 saloon and estate models. The first generation (Type 8T) belongs to the B8 family and was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. It includes coupe, cabriolet, and Sportback variants, with the latter being a five-door liftback with a fastback roofline. This generation marked Audi's return to the compact executive coupé market after a long absence.

History & notable variants

The A5 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007 alongside its S5 variant. Orders began on the same day, and first deliveries were made in June 2007. The model range includes petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmissions. Notable variants include the RS5 coupé introduced in 2010, featuring a powerful 4.2 FSI engine and advanced quattro all-wheel-drive system.
