The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car launched by Audi at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Sales of the initial three-door model started in Germany in August 2010, with the United Kingdom following in November 2010. The five-door Sportback variant was introduced in November 2011 and began sales in export markets early in 2012. Built on the Volkswagen Group PQ25 platform, it features a range of petrol engines and diesel options, alongside advanced safety features and technology. It is aimed at young, affluent urban buyers.

History & notable variants
The A1 was previewed as the Audi metroproject concept car at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The production version went on sale in late 2010 after its launch at Wörthersee Tour 2010 and the major public unveiling at the Paris Motor Show. Notable variants include the A1 Sportback, introduced in 2011, and limited editions such as the Motto Vehicles series from Wörthersee Tour 2010. The A1 e-tron concept was also showcased, though production plans were later put on hold.
