History & notable variants

The second-generation Audi S3 was introduced as a high-performance version of the A3, featuring an uprated engine and improved handling. In April 2008, Audi launched the five-door S3 Sportback alongside minor updates to the existing three-door model. The car received positive reception for its performance capabilities but faced criticism due to its relatively high pricing compared to competitors like the BMW 1 Series M Sport.
