The third-generation Audi S3 was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September 2012 as a three-door hatchback. It went on sale in spring 2013. In autumn 2013, a four-door sedan variant joined the lineup, followed by a convertible version in July 2014. Mid-2016 saw a facelift that included more striking taillights with dynamic indicators and an increase in engine power to 310 hp (231 kW).
