Each generation has featured more powerful engines, upgraded brakes, firmer suspension, larger wheels, and distinctive styling compared to its mainstream counterparts. The S4 is manufactured at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, Germany, and is available as a four-door sedan or five-door Avant (station wagon).
