The Audi Q5 first generation (Typ 8R) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Audi from July 2008 to 2017. It was the third member of the B8 family, following the A5 and fourth-generation A4, all based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform. The Q5 features front-engine, front-wheel drive or quattro permanent four-wheel-drive configurations. Early models included petrol engines like the 3.2 FSI V6 and diesel options such as the 2.0 TDI I4 and 3.0 TDI V6. It was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in 2008, with production starting in October 2008 for Europe and early 2009 for North America.
