BMW 1 Series wheel fitment — III F40
Overview
The BMW 1 Series III (F40) is the third generation of subcompact executive hatchback cars, introduced on September 28, 2019 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Built on the UKL2 platform and produced until 2024 in Leipzig and Regensburg, Germany, it marks a shift from rear-wheel drive to front-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive (xDrive). Compared to its predecessor, the F40 is shorter but wider and taller, offering improved interior space and reduced weight due to increased aluminum use. It features petrol and diesel engines meeting Euro 6d-TEMP standards.
History & notable variants
The F40 was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September 2019 and launched shortly after. In October 2021, an updated M135i variant was introduced with retuned suspension components for enhanced performance.
