Overview

The seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range includes the G20 sedan and G21 Touring (station wagon) variants, produced from October 2018 to 2026. Built on the CLAR platform, it features increased use of high-strength steel and aluminum for improved rigidity and weight reduction compared to its predecessor. The car is available in various markets worldwide with production in Germany, China, Mexico, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, and Vietnam. Notable changes include a facelift in July 2022, discontinuation of the Gran Turismo model, and introduction of mild hybrid technology.

History & notable variants

The G20 was unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show and launched for sale in March 2019. It received a facelift (LCI) in July 2022 with updated exterior styling and interior features including a curved display screen. The M340i model became available in early 2019, followed by the plug-in hybrid variant 330e later that year. Notable awards include Auto Bild Allrad's 'AWD Car of the Year up to €40,000' and What Car?'s 'Best Executive Car'.
