Overview

The BMW 4 Series is a compact executive car manufactured by BMW since 2013, spun off from the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series. The second generation was launched in June 2020 and includes coupé, convertible, and Gran Coupé body styles. It distinguishes itself with a large kidney grille design and is produced alongside the G20 3 Series.

History & notable variants

The original concept car was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013. The second generation introduced significant styling changes to move the model upscale, including a larger front grille inspired by the BMW 328 of the 1930s. In January 2021, the 420i M Sport was named 'Coupé of the Year' by What Car? magazine and received a five-star review.
