Overview

The BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) is the high-performance version of the BMW 8 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. Introduced in June 2019, it was initially produced as a two-door convertible and two-door coupe. A four-door sedan variant, known as 'Gran Coupe', joined the lineup in October 2019. The M8 is built on the BMW CLAR platform with adaptive dampers and an all-wheel-drive system that can decouple its front axle for rear-wheel drive performance. It features a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine shared with other high-performance models like the M5, X5M, and X6M.

History & notable variants

Development of the BMW M8 began in 2017 when prototypes were tested alongside the introduction of the Concept 8 Series at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car was officially unveiled online on June 4, 2019, as a high-performance 'Competition' variant in coupé and convertible styles. Production commenced in August 2019.
