BMW X1 I (E84) — Wheel Fitment & Specs
Overview
The E84 BMW X1 is a subcompact crossover SUV/C-segment model produced from 2009 to 2015. It was the first generation of the BMW X1 range, replacing larger models in the lineup and marking BMW's entry into the smaller SUV segment. The vehicle was developed on the same platform as the E90 BMW 3 Series, featuring a shortened development period compared to previous X-series models. Available in rear-wheel drive (sDrive) and all-wheel drive (xDrive) configurations, it offered a wide range of engine options including petrol and diesel variants.

Aftermarket wheel sizes — read per position:
| Position | Width | Offset |
|---|---|---|
| Front | 7.5J–8.5J | ET22–ET35 |
| Rear (staggered) | 9J–9.5J | ET31–ET45 |
As a rule, each extra 1J of width wants roughly +8–10 ET to keep the wheel tucked. The exact offset and any spacer are confirmed by the fit-check.
UK popularity & demand
Based on DfT VEH0124 vehicle-parc data (2025), there are approximately 129,378 BMW X1 on UK roads, placing it in the top 3% of car models by volume across our fitment database. That makes its wheel fitment a high-demand size to keep in stock — one reason we track its exact spec here.
