Overview

The third-generation BMW X3 F97 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2017. It was designed to offer improved performance and technology over its predecessor, the second generation (F25). The production of this model began in 2017 at BMW's Rosslyn plant in South Africa alongside the Spartanburg plant in the USA after a major upgrade for X3 production capacity. This generation features advanced drivetrains including petrol variants with the powerful B58 engine and diesel options, as well as an electric variant (BMW iX3). The F97 version introduced the 3.0 L S58 engine specifically for the M model in 2019.
