Overview
The Ford C-Max is a compact MPV produced by Ford Motor Company from 2003 to 2019, featuring a five-door design. The first generation (2003-2010) was built on the Ford C1 platform and assembled in Saarlouis, Germany. It aimed to compete with models like the Renault Megane Scenic but faced delays due to technical challenges in developing a 7-seater version. The first generation of C-Max underwent a facelift in December 2006, incorporating Ford's 'Kinetic Design' elements. In the US market, it was introduced as Ford's first hybrid-only line with the release of the C-Max Hybrid and Energi plug-in hybrid models in 2012. Production ended in the US from September 2017 to mid-2018 and ceased globally at Saarlouis in June 2019.
