Ford Galaxy wheel fitment — I WGR
Overview
The first generation of the Ford Galaxy was a seven-seater car produced by Ford of Europe from June 1995 to April 2006. It is considered in the motor industry as a large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and was the first Ford-brand MPV produced outside North America. Developed alongside the Ford S-Max, it shared its platform with the Ford Mondeo. The Galaxy was designed through a joint venture between Ford and Volkswagen Group, using predominantly VW mechanicals but featuring some Ford components in the interior design.
Ford Galaxy wheel fitment
Start with the hub. The Ford Galaxy (I) WGR spec table gives the bolt pattern and bore; the second table is the aftermarket window for Ford Galaxy wheel fitment.
| Bolt pattern (PCD) | 5x112 |
| Centre bore | 57.1 mm |
| Bolt / thread | M14x1.5 (bolts) |
| Seat type | tapered |
| Factory setup | staggered |
| TPMS | none |
Aftermarket wheel sizes — read per position:
| Position | Width | Offset |
|---|---|---|
| Front | 6J–9.5J | ET29–ET59 |
| Rear (staggered) | 8.5J–10.5J | ET26–ET45 |
As a rule, each extra 1J of width wants roughly +8 to 10 ET to keep the wheel tucked. The exact offset and any spacer are confirmed by the fit-check.
UK popularity & demand
Based on DfT VEH0124 vehicle-parc data (2025), there are approximately 49,234 Ford Galaxy on UK roads, placing it in the top 6% of car models by volume across our fitment database.
With that many on the road, Ford Galaxy wheel fitment is a spec fitters see constantly. We keep it current for that reason.

History & notable variants
The MkI Ford Galaxy received a facelift in August 2000, incorporating New Edge styling elements including a new dashboard. It faced mixed public reaction; while it was rated as the least satisfying car in the UK by Top Gear magazine in 1999, it also sold more than its VW counterpart and was the best-selling MPV in the UK.
