History & notable variants

The third-generation Kuga made its debut in April 2019 and went on sale as a 2020 model. It was designed to be Ford's first SUV using the C2 platform, which allowed for significant weight reduction compared to previous models. A facelift was introduced in January 2024, following the North American market counterpart, the Escape.
