Overview

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class W169 is the second generation of this subcompact executive car series. History & notable variants

In its initial release in late 2004, the W169 A-Class featured advanced safety equipment such as adaptive front airbags, optional side-impact protection, and an active head restraint system. It also introduced a Selective Damping System for enhanced handling. In 2008, it received a facelift with updated styling and the addition of Active Park Assist. Notable variants included the A-Class Special Edition (5500 units) in 2009 and the A-Class E-CELL electric vehicle introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 2010.
