Overview
The C209/A209 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class is the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class range of grand tourers, produced between 2001 and 2009. It was based on the W203 C-Class platform with rack-and-pinion steering and a three-link front suspension system. The coupé (C209) features a pillarless design while the convertible (A209) has a three-layered electric soft top that can be operated via keyfob or at speeds up to 8 km/h in 20 seconds. Production of the convertible was moved from Karmann's Osnabrück plant to Bremen, Germany in 2004.

History & notable variants
The C209/A209 CLK-Class underwent a facelift in June 2005 with exterior design changes including redesigned front and rear bumpers, grille modifications, and updated taillights. The interior received an upgraded COMAND-APS system with iPod integration and a new center console layout. Notable special editions include the CLK DTM AMG (2004–2006) and the CLK 63 AMG Black Series (2007–2009).
