Overview

The Mercedes-Benz GLS (formerly GL-Class) is a full-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2006, positioned above the GLE in the marque's SUV lineup. The second generation model (X166), introduced in September 2012 and renamed to GLS in 2016 due to a rebranding initiative, is built on an unibody architecture shared with the GLE. It features efficiency improvements such as start-stop systems and drive-by-wire steering, alongside high-performance variants like the GL63 AMG.
