Overview

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly known as the M-Class (designated with 'ML' nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz since 1997. History & notable variants

In 2011, Mercedes-Benz introduced the W166 generation ML-Class as part of its efforts to harmonize SUV naming conventions by aligning it with the E-Class. The model received significant updates in styling and technology but retained its position as a mid-size luxury crossover. In April 2015, at the New York Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the facelifted W166 ML-Class, which marked the transition to the GLE nameplate.
