It serves as the largest model in the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, following the Vito and Citan. This generation was introduced in 2019 to replace the second-generation model. The Sprinter is manufactured at various plants globally, including Düsseldorf and Ludwigsfelde in Germany, Tiaret in Algeria, Amman in Jordan, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Charleston in South Carolina (USA), Tai'an and Fúzhōu in China, Tehran in Iran, and Nizhny Novgorod in Russia.
