Overview

The Volkswagen Amarok is a mid-size pickup truck produced by German automaker Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles since 2010. It was first presented in General Pacheco, Argentina, on January 7, 2010. The project began in 2005 with the intent to build a robust and off-road capable vehicle. The Amarok is available as single cab or double cab variants, with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel-drive options (4Motion). It features turbocharged petrol engines and diesel engines, including a range of TDI units from Volkswagen's Transporter (T5) and later models include the 3.0L V6 TDI engine introduced in 2017.

History & notable variants

The first-generation Amarok was launched in Argentina and then expanded to other markets such as Europe, South America, Australia, and others. It underwent a facelift in 2016 with significant changes including the introduction of the new 3.0L V6 TDI engine. A second facelift occurred in 2024 for the Argentine market, featuring design cues from the Mk2 Amarok and an updated interior.
