Overview
The Volkswagen Bora (Iv), also known as the Jetta or Vento in other markets, is a compact car produced by Volkswagen from August 1997 to 2006. It was based on the fourth generation Golf platform and offered both hatchback and sedan body styles. The Bora featured an updated interior with improved ergonomics and comfort compared to its predecessor. New high-performance models included the VR6-engined four-wheel-drive 'R32' introduced in 2002, as well as turbocharged variants of the 1.8T engine used across Volkswagen Group models.

History & notable variants
The Bora was first unveiled in August 1997 and later released in October that year as a hatchback, followed by a sedan version (Bora or Jetta) in August 1998. It received a facelift in China in July 2006, becoming the 'Bora HS'. The Bora was produced until 2006 and was succeeded by the fifth generation Golf.
