Overview
The Volkswagen ID.7 is a battery electric car produced by German marque Volkswagen since 2023. It has a five-door liftback design and is marketed in the E-segment, replacing both the Passat and Arteon as the flagship vehicle for the brand. The ID.7 rides on the newly established MEB platform, where it competes with D-segment vehicles such as the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3. It features a standard rear-wheel drive layout and is positioned upmarket compared to its predecessors due to its larger size.

The world premiere of the ID.7 took place on April 17, 2023, simultaneously in Berlin and at the Shanghai Auto Show. The vehicle was first previewed as a near-production version at CES in Las Vegas on January 4, 2023. An estate model, known as the Tourer or Shooting Brake, was unveiled on February 20, 2024.
