Overview
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is a battery electric minivan produced by German manufacturer Volkswagen, based on the dedicated MEB platform. It is the first production electric minivan from Volkswagen and part of the Volkswagen ID. series. Inspired by the iconic VW Type 2 (T1) Microbus, it features retro styling with modern technology. Production began in June 2022 at the Hanover factory after retooling for EV assembly. The vehicle was unveiled in March 2022 and launched in Europe in the second half of 2022, followed by North America in 2024. It is available in two configurations: a five-seater passenger van and a cargo van (ID. Buzz Cargo). A long-wheelbase version debuted on June 2, 2023, for the US market.

History & notable variants
The concept of the ID. Buzz was first shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2017. Positive consumer interest led to its production announcement by CEO Herbert Diess in August 2017. The production version debuted on March 9, 2022, with series production starting in June 2022 and an annual capacity of 130,000 units. Pre-orders began in May 2022 for Europe.
