Overview

The Volkswagen T-Roc is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by German automaker Volkswagen. It was unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and launched in November 2017. Based on the Volkswagen Group MQB A1 platform, it is considered the SUV equivalent of the C-segment Golf. Positioned between the Tiguan and the slightly smaller T-Cross, while being approximately the same size as the less expensive Taigo.

History & notable variants

The T-Roc was previewed as a concept car at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. It features an all-wheel drive drivetrain. The production version launched in Italy on August 23, 2017, and is assembled in Palmela, Portugal for European markets and Foshan, China for Chinese markets. A high-performance T-Roc R variant was introduced in February 2019 with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The T-Roc received its first facelift in November 2021.
