The Volkswagen Tiguan (I) is a compact crossover SUV produced by Volkswagen from 2007 to 2018. It was based on the PQ46 platform and featured two-row seating with transversely mounted four-cylinder engines. The first generation Tiguan was initially shown as a concept vehicle at the LA Auto Show in November 2006, followed by its production form revealed online in June 2007 before being officially launched at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 2007.

History & notable variants

The first generation Tiguan underwent a facelift for the 2012 model year, featuring updated exterior styling and enhanced performance.
