Overview
The Volkswagen Touareg (I) R5 is part of the first generation of this mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced from August 2002 until March 2026, built exclusively at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant in Slovakia. It was developed jointly with Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 on the Volkswagen Group PL71 platform. The R5 variant features a powerful V10 diesel engine producing 257 kW (349 PS; 345 hp) and 850 N⋅m (627 lb⋅ft) of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.

As a rule, each extra 1J of width wants roughly +8–10 ET to keep the wheel tucked. The exact offset and any spacer are confirmed by the fit-check.
The R5 was globally launched at the 2007 Australian International Motor Show as part of a facelift for the first generation Touareg. It included sport-tuned air suspension and engine-spin finish interior trim, among other performance enhancements.
