History & notable variants

Introduced in 1990, the T4 was the first Volkswagen van with a front-mounted water-cooled engine, marking a significant departure from its air-cooled predecessor. The model underwent a major facelift in 1996, introducing a longer nose design necessary for accommodating the VR6 engine. Production ceased in 2003 after nearly 14 years of manufacturing.
