History & notable variants

In September 2009, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles introduced a facelifted T5 range featuring new technology such as the Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission, Side Lane Assist, Bi-Xenon Head Lights with LED Daytime Running Lights, and touchscreen Radio Navigation System. The engines were updated to more efficient 2.0L inline-four designs. In 2011, a special Edition 25 Multivan was released for the 25th anniversary of the Multivan model.
