Overview
The Volkswagen Up! is a city car produced by the Volkswagen Group from 2011 to 2023. It is part of the New Small Family (NSF) series, alongside the SEAT Mii and Škoda Citigo which are rebadged versions with different front and rear fascias. Production began in December 2011 at the Volkswagen Plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, and continued until October 2023 when it ended.
History & notable variants
The Up! was introduced after a series of concept cars starting from 2007. It features a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout with a three-cylinder petrol engine. The model won the World Car of the Year in 2012 and received a facelift in 2016. A GTI variant was introduced in January 2018 featuring a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine producing 115 PS (113 bhp; 85 kW). An electric version, the E-up!, was launched in autumn 2013.
